Acoustic- folk duo The Rye Sisters will be performing at Caffe Portico on Saturday 19th November! Ishani and Sue’s perfect blend of mandolin, violin and acoustic guitar make for a great evening of live music. Both artists are heavily influenced by Americana country music such as Dixie Chicks and The Civil Wars, and have been successful musicians for a number of years. It was only in May that they officially started playing as The Rye Sisters, their first gig being in The Rogue Saint in Lincoln.
Come along and enjoy some live entertainment as well as some delicious Italian style pizza! We will be serving pizza at 7.30 from our evening menu (see below) as well as some fantastic Italian wines.
To book, contact 07956653156 or pop in to the Caffe.
Music will start at 8.30 and tickets are only £6 – don’t miss out!
Do you like authentic Italian Pizza? The kind of pizza that makes you feel like you’re in Naples and tastes the way real pizza should.
Here at Caffe Portico Sim prides himself on making pizzas authentically, hand stretching the dough, topping it with a home-made sauce and simple fresh ingredients. Serving it straight out of our hand built wood fired pizza oven.
Our menu is bursting with Italian flavours with favourites such as the Calabrese; a fiery concoction of salame picante, nduja sausage and chilli. The Boscaiola, a hearty pizza with mushroom, Redhill Farm sausage, backed with fennel. Or the Quattro Stagioni, a combination of ham, mushroom, artichoke and olives making up all the four seasons. But let us not forget the classic Margherita, where simple ingredients cooked to perfection makes some pretty tasty pizza.
If you would like to join us at our next pizza night call 07956653156 to book a table.
For those who don’t know yet, a few months ago Sim built his very own Wood Fired Pizza oven. With help from his friend Adam from VDuo Motorcycles he put it into the back of a Piaggio Ape. Now we are bringing you Portico Pizza Nights, where we serve the very best in traditional Neapolitan pizza.
We make our Pizzas by following classic Neapolitan methods. Sticking to traditional flavours, we hand-stretch the dough, top it with simple fresh ingredients and cook it at over 400C in the wood fired oven, giving it that authentic smoky flavour.
The first few Pizza nights were a real success and we are so happy with the support from all our guests. Aside from the food, the best thing is definitely the atmosphere. Come and relax with friends and enjoy a dining experience perfect for an easy Friday evening.
Over the next few weeks and months to come, we will increase the frequency of our Pizza nights in response to demand, so don’t worry if you miss one. If you want to try fantastic Neapolitan style Pizza, let us know and we can book you a table at the next evening, which will be on the 1st of April. Call Sim on 07956653156 to reserve a table.
Because of some conflicting dates we’ve had to change some of the dates for the next few Pizza Nights:
May 13th (changed date)
June 3rd (new date)
Once again the fires will be stoked in our very own wood fired oven, and you will be able to enjoy the smoky, rustic taste of authentic Italian Pizza at only £10 per person. For all those who missed last months pizza evening we invite you on Friday the 23rd to join us for this great evening. To book a table you can either call the Cafe on 07956653156 or leave a comment on the Facebook event. We look forward to seeing some new and familiar faces for a night of good food and good company.
